Welcome to our series highlighting our memberships at La Halte. This week, we asked our members why they chose the open-access option. Whether it's the warm, bright atmosphere or the ambivalent nature of the space, open access is popular for a variety of reasons.
A place where inspiration can flourish
Being able to change location - for example, from a closed office to a bright, open area - is a highly valued aspect of self-access workstations for many members: “For me, changing location is a way of changing mental space. A new place, a new energy! It helps me with my creative projects”, explained one member. She adds that working in different places gives her a boost of energy, so she feels more inspired at work.
Sunshine
“In winter, it's good to get some sun. The natural light and the view outside change everything!” said one member. Indeed, the self-access workstations are located in front of large windows overlooking the street. At midday, the room is flooded with sunlight and warmth. The people working there can take advantage of this light to regain a little energy and work in a pretty, illuminated space filled with plants.
Social
Although La Halte is first and foremost a space dedicated to work, it's also a place where you can interact with people: “By coming regularly to the open-access workstations, you get to know people. It's easier to exchange ideas and create links in the open-access area”, said one member when we asked him what he appreciated most about the open-access workstations. The open-access area is a large open space frequented by everyone: so you can exchange ideas with other people and expand your network of acquaintances.
Flexibility
Finally, what many members appreciate is the ambivalent aspect of working at the open-access station: “The versatility of La Halte is what I prefer: varied spaces, different atmospheres, like the silent light counter or the terrace”, confided one member, or, “I love the flexibility: depending on my mood and workload, I can choose the atmosphere that suits me. Quieter or more dynamic,” said another. Close to soundproofed phone booths and coffee machines, take advantage of a space where multiple services are offered nearby. Open-access workstations offer a dynamic approach to work, encouraging people to move around and not stay in the same place all day: a sense of freedom comes from changing workspaces.
For all these reasons, our members believe that open-access positions are advantageous. To book a spot, visit the Halte 24-7 Montréal website, or call us directly at 514 524 1444.
