Clothing Drive for Le Chaînon

With the Ecomundo Team

In addition to the traditional Christmas baskets, this year the Halte is proposing another collection to its members, this time for clothing and home accessories.

The idea comes from the Ecomundo team, a company that has occupied an office at the Halte since 2018. In collaboration with its members, we are organizing a clothing drive to benefit Le Chaînon, a mutual aid association for women in difficulty in Montreal.

Le Chaînon offers a variety of services, including safe housing, meals, assistance and support. Their work is based on an approach that promotes autonomy and empowerment for women in a variety of difficult situations (mental and physical health problems, addictions, aftermath of aggression and violence, behavioural problems, relationship problems and others). Founded in 1932, Le Chaînon plays an absolutely essential role in defending the rights of women in Montreal.

Our collection will begin on December 9th. We are inviting members of the Halte to bring in various items that we will then donate to the organization. The current needs of Le Chaînon are as follows

Clothing: Warm socks, pajamas of all sizes, women's clothing of all sizes, winter boots, coats, children's clothing, men's clothing

Basic necessities: toothbrushes, toothpaste, lip balm, deodorant, hair accessories (brushes, elastics, clips)

Items for starter kits: Bedding (twin and double sheets), towels, toaster, coffee maker

Give generously! Every participation in the drive gives you an extra chance at the gift basket drawing scheduled for the December 15 Christmas Party.
