Five mobile applications to manage your business remotely

Running a business comes with its own set of challenges, and it can be hard to keep track. Here are 5 apps that can help you navigate through your various tasks, all from your phone:

Wave

Never forget to keep track of your business expenses again! Wave is an accounting application that allows you to do your bookkeeping quickly and from anywhere. It allows you to scan receipts in a few clicks, so that even the most forgetful of people can keep track of money coming in and going out. You can also create and send your invoices from within the application.

The paid version also offers the ability to accept online bill payments and manage your employees' pay.

Asana

Asana is a project management application, particularly useful for collaboration between team members. It allows you to distribute and visualize tasks in the form of calendars, Kanban boards and chronological Gantt charts. We can thus measure the progress of our different projects at a glance and better identify priority tasks.

It is even possible to automate certain tasks. Indeed, we can program an action (send a message, add to the calendar, etc.) in reaction to certain manipulations in the application (the progress of a task, for example).

Airtable

In the same vein, Airtable's web interface also allows collaborative project management. Several viewing options are available here as well, and what sets it apart from Asana is mainly the ability to manage budgets for different projects and issue invoices.

The strength of their mobile app is the ease of creating and managing shared databases. The applications here are endless: customer database, expense tracking, etc.

Loom

More and more used with remote work, loom allows to create and share short videos to our collaborators. With the ability to record your screen and add a video of the person presenting or commenting, you can make sure that everything is clear. This visual sharing is much faster and more precise than an email to communicate complex information.

No need to wait for a day when everyone will be available at the same time; communicate as soon as you're ready, and your colleagues can update and respond to you as soon as they have a moment.

Slack

Slack now needs no introduction. This discussion platform allows you to organize exchanges according to different channels, so that information can be sent directly to those who need it.

Its strength? The integration of a large number of applications. Airtable, Asana and Loom are all integrated into the platform. Several other design, data analysis and calendar tools also offer a version for Slack.

Bonus: Momenteo

While Momenteo isn't exactly an app, it does manage to carve out a place in this list. Designed and created in Quebec, it is a web interface that can handle many business management tasks. You can create estimates and invoices, manage a bank of clients, track your expenses and keep track of your various tasks thanks to a calendar.

Most of the features are free, but a paid subscription will give you access to some additional options.

We hope these few applications will help you organize your business from a distance!
