My office that fits my needs - Natacha Larson, orthopédagogue

Thursday October 25th, 2018, 2:26 PM

In September, I could celebrate “Natacha Larson, Orthopédagogue” second anniversary. I don’t see what I’m doing as work, it’s a moment of pure pleasure for me. There is my family first and hem my work, and it’s going well. And if it runs smoothly, I explain to the children that: “I’m not here to yell at you, it’s your responsibility, we can stop the following”. It’s working well with children: don’t be punitive! This is one of advantage to be education specialist entrepreneur, I have a considerable freedom and I can innovate and create.

Why did you choose a coworking space rather than a classic office?

Spontaneously! When my maternity leave ends, my best friend send my a like with the best coworking spaces in Montréal. My husband organised a visit with Philippe. It was like a dream: total autonomy, friendly setting and a working environment.

How did your integration in Halte’s community?

I really appreciate when I have the time to participate to events. Since I feel at ease and I have a waiting list, I can reduce my work hours. I enjoy conferences at lunch time! Activities as wine degustation, cooking class to make sushi, yoga class, it’s incredible! What more can you ask for?

Do you have an advice for someone who want to take the plunge and set up his own business?

Yes, absolutely! My advice is to set up the business by passion and follow his own intuition. By sticking to his values, it’s impossible to be wrong. This choice is not a cartesian choice. There was no doubt in my mind when I launch my business. Some people told me: “you’re totally carefree”, and I answered “no, I’m totally normal, but YOU are spending your life!”
